The topic of the biannual CMBD symposium traditionally encompasses the broad range of interests held by the student steering committee. For instance, the 2008 symposium “Basic Science Strategies for Vaccine Development” featured speakers from multiple stages of vaccine research. Students on the Cellular and Molecular Basis of Disease training grant independently facilitate this symposium series.

Co-sponsored by the Northwestern Center for Molecular Innovation and Drug Discovery, the Integrated Graduate Program and the Interdepartmental Biological Sciences Program. Additional support provided by Fisher Scientific, Accutek Laboratories/ Pipette.com, Millipore, Promega, VWR, and BD.
