Frequently Asked Questions

mosquito Crystal

The mosquito Crystal automates protein crystallography set-ups (hanging drop, sitting drop and microbatch techniques) and additive screening

Protein Crystallography
•  automates high density 96-well hanging drop plate preparation
•  high accuracy and precision drop placement facilitates automated analysis, making crystals easier to identify
•  creates several multi-component drops per well
•  allows different samples, constructs, complexes, volume ratios or protein concentrations to be assessed simultaneously

Screening
•  disposable micropipettes guarantee zero carry-over between samples
•  can replicate mother plates into multiple low volume daughter plates, or reformat from 96-well plates into 384
•  mosquito HTS performs serial dilutions across an assay plate in miniaturised volumes
