understanding biological Machines

Protein unfolding is a critical step in many cellular processes. Cellular machines such as ATP-dependent proteases and mitochondria can unfold native proteins many times faster than they would unfold spontaneously. Our goal is to reveal how these complex machines perform this formidable task and how they achieve their remarkable specificity.
