Projects :: Identification and cloning of new tube size control genes
To indentify genes involved in tube-size control, we are cloning and characterizing tube-size control genes isolated in our genetic screens. We have cloned four genes not previously known to be required for epithelial tube-size control and junction formation (a and b subunits of the Na K ATPase, the claudin sinuous and varicose (in preparation)), and are working to close several more that are defined by mutations in as yet unidentified genes.
