Steroids released from the adrenal cortex. Corticosteroids
include both mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids. Mineralocorticoids
maintain salt and fluid balance in the body while glucocorticoids
have metabolic and anti-inflammatory effects and are important
mediators of the stress response. |
