AKA:
P1 phage
- a bacteriophage that is used often for E. coli transduction.
- Genome is a linear double-standed DNA molecule of about
90kb, is terminally redundant, and cyclically permuted
- DNA libraries are sometimes kept in the phage and is
then transfected into E. coli to grow up clones. Individual
clones can be isolated by diluting the phage to produce
sepratable plaques. |
